Saturday, July 12th--Ventura/Oxnard, CA

It's been a long and exhausting but wonderful day of travel, singing, and meeting other singers! We have finally checked in to the hotel and the kids are at the pool doing their swimming test, just to be sure everyone who wishes to swim, snorkel, or do other water activities during tour are competent swimmers. It's 11:56pm Georgia time, but only 8:56pm according to the local time.

Our flights from Atlanta to LA were good and pretty uneventful, then we took a coach up to Ventura College for a workshop with the Ventura Master Chorale's Children's Chorus. They are very nice kids and good singers too! The VMCCC's supporters fed our kids lunch and dinner, then gave us rides back to the hotel after the rehearsals.

Tomorrow we have two performances--a church service in the morning, then a 7pm concert with the VMCCC in the evening. I'll update the blog with messages from the kids and photos that I gather from Carrie (our Tour photographer) and the kids.

The AYSC staff is VERY happy with the great behavior and attitudes of our singers so far! The kids have been great travellers and you should be proud of them!

Hey, I'm leaving the first message. Glad you all arrived safely. I find myself thinking about all of you, refiguring the time change and looking to see what you're doing. Wish I was there but I know Phoebe is happy we're not! Enjoy, sing beautifully and be good to each other.

Hi,
I hope the concerts went well. Too bad I didn't
get to hear you all. Thendral, I tried to call
you this morning. There was no response
from your side. Try to find out from your
teachers about meeting with Anupa tomorrow.
Try to relax. The schedule looks very hectic.

Enjoy!

Aloha Y'all!

We hope everyone is enjoying the tour. You all have had some very long days. We hope you will get a little rest soon. Elise - Aunt Mel called tonight. She said the concert in Ventura was great; the AYS and Paige were wonderful. We look forward to hearing more from Hawaii.

Hi Dani! Glad you are finally in Hawaii! Hope your trip has been a blast so far. I have been tracking your flights on a flight tracker website and can see exactly where your plane is in the air! So cool! DeeDee and Fuzzy miss you terribly. So do I and your dad. Enjoy yourself and send me an email or a blog message if you can. Take lots of pictures.

Love, Mom
